Lot description
Red and white chalk, 36,0 x 46,7 cm, blue laid paper (few creases, pencil lines in corners).
Mounted at upper edges, under passe-partout.
Pieter Mulier II (1637-1701), also called Cavaliere Tempesta, produced drawings in red chalk (New York, The Morgan Library & Museum, inv. III, 219a) and on blue paper (id., inv. 1985.22), and paintings with very similar compositions (Cheshire, Tatton park, inv. NT 1298257).
