Lot description

Black and red chalk, pencil, grey and brown ink and wash, 18,8 x 24,4 to 24,5 x 38,3 cm, laid paper, signed "VDMeulen" and dated 1701 (sl. soiled, few tears and creases on edges).

Made by an unidentified Van der Meulen, these sheets closely resemble the work of Pieter van Bloemen (1657-1720) in Antwerp (Museum Plantin-Moretus, inv. PK.OT.00293) and Verviers (BALAT, inv. 10105441).
