(pl. 186 (= 168 in table of content, "Vue du Canal de La Haye") missing, foxing and spots throughout, esp. in margins, edges or margins sl. toned, tear on central fold and marg. folds on map, sm. marg. tear to a text f. in vol. II, some pl. and few text f. part. or compl. detached, few errors in the numb. of pl.).
Contemp. half green, straight grained morocco, marbled paper boards, gilt-orn. spines (turn in and joints sl. rubbed).
First edition of the text written by J.-J. De Cloet (Bruges 1790-Freyr 1855) and first issue of 201 plates, lithographed a.o. by Jean-Baptiste Madou, after the drawings of Otto van der Howen, B. Mary, T. Hubert, A. de Marbaix, etc. featuring city views, monuments, landscapes, castles, etc. in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Incl. 2 lithogr. titles by H.A Kreins, the portrait of the Princess of Orange by Prevost and the fold. map with borders coloured. Few pl. in camaïeux.
