Lot description
Pencil, watercolour, grey and brown wash, c. 20,5 x 28,2 cm, ms. note "Album légué par ma soeur Félicie de Cramayel Comtesse de Montjoy", some French titles (few loose, few edges browned, few spots).
Contemp. green sheep (sl. rubbed).
Mostly views on castles, churches and ruins, incl. the church of Paraclet of Abélard and Héloïse, the parental house of Jeanne d'Arc in Domremy, the abbey of Hautecombe and a view on Aix-les-Bains, but also a rider on horseback, a bird of paradise, a fox, etc. The inscription suggests the drawings were made by Félicie de Cramayel (1794-1826), Comtesse de Montjoy, and were inherited by one of her siblings after her early death.
