Lot description
Faience, 17,3 x 22,0 x 2,0 cm, signed "C Meunier", stamps of Faiencerie Nimy, Brussels, and "Avec les hommages d'Edouard Taymans" (few light scratches, hole for hanging).
Edouard Taymans was a succesful coal merchant. His Art Nouveau house and atelier in Ixelles, which survives to this day, was designed by Paul Hamesse. In 1904 he commissioned several versions in different materials of this plaquette as a gift to his clients.
