Contemp. half sheep, sp. paper on covers, flat spine (corners rubbed, joints starting to split, sm. restauration to head).

Entirely engraved by Helman (1743-1806). Ill. with 24 nice plates depicting lively landscapes, ceremonies, scenes of Confucius' life, etc. after drawings of the missionary Amiot. Often accompanied by "Faits mémorables des empereurs de la Chine", also illustrated by Helman.
