Mod. quarter vellum, marbled paper on covers, gilt-titled flat spine, red edges (covers shaved).
One of Plantin's reprints (1st publ. in Latin and revised by J. Hentenius, Leuven, 1547 by Gravius) of the Leuven Bible. The Leuven University prepared this version by request of Emperor Charles V, who prohibited all Bibles suspected to be inspired by Protestant ideas. Woodcut border and printer's mark on title. Printed in 2 col. separated by a line.
