2 vol., 4to (n.c., some sl. foxing, somewhat cut short, sl. damp stains in begin. of vol. I, occ. (marg.) ink stains, some marg. tears strengthened esp. in begin. of vol. I, wormhole(s) or wormtrack at end of vol. I).

Contemp. mottled sheep, gilt-orn. spines with raised bands, red spr. edges (rubbed, heads and tails missing).

Edited by the French jurisconsult and professor Denys Godefroy (1549-1622), his authoritative comments surrounding the text of Justinianus (1st 1583). Text microscopic types; titles (1st printed in red & black) within identical architectural frame.
