Columbus, Vespucci, Magellan) in medallions, the other vignettes figuring historical scenes (o.a. Cortés arriving in Veracruz in 1519), large geographic insets (plans and views) of significant locations (o.a. Cape of Good Hope, Niagara Falls) and colonial economies (o.a. sugar mills, mining).
