2 complementary sets of Dürer's famous series: 1-6. 6 woodcuts (trimmed on or outside blockline, few spots). Underlaid and laid down on paper. Incl. Christ on the Mount of Olives, Christ crowned with thorns, Pilate washing his hands, the Descent from the Cross, the Deposition, Christ appearing to his mother. - 7-20. 14 woodcuts, 2 with Latin letterpress text on verso (trimmed on or outside blockline, few corners and sm. parts on blockline missing with facsimile in pencil, few holes, some spots, some stains). Mounted at corners. Incl. the fall of man, the Annunciation, the Nativity, the entry into Jerusalem, Christ taking leave from his mother, the Last Supper, Christ washing the feet of the disciples, Veronica between Saints Peter and Paul, Christ in limbo, Noli me tangere, Christ in Emmaus, the Ascension, Pentecost and the Last Judgment. The letterpress texts confirm that this set incl. early impressions from the Latin ed. of 1511.
