First and only edition of a philosophical treatise based on the ode "On the cicada" by Anacreon. The Marquis Pindemonte revisited in this work some of his youthful and unpublished writings from the the time when he was a member of the Accademia degli Spensierati in Padua. Illustrated with a copper-engr. frontispiece and a plate depicting the emblems of the Accademia.
