Second edition, enlarged compared to the first of 1787-1793, of a guide to Pisa, with a special focus on its art history (vol. II contains biographies of Pisan artists). Illustrated with a portrait of the author in frontispiece of vol. I and 32 plates (11 fold.), incl. the St Jerome in Penitence (by Baccio Baldini or Maso Finiguerra) and The Inferno after the fresco in the Camposanto of Pisa by Baccio Baldini, 15th-c. engravings of which no other issue is known. The other plates show a map and views of the city, monuments, bas-reliefs, etc.
