Pencil, black ink, gouache, 22,0 x 16,0 cm (visible), wove paper, attributed on verso of frame (few spots).

Under passe-partout and frame.

An angel on a horse illuminated in white appears to beggars. Van Offel (Antwerp 1871- 1959) was a Belgian painter, illustrator, writer, poet, bookbinding designer and draftsman. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
