Contemp. gold-tooled calf, covers with gilt central arms in two gilt double ruled frames with corner pieces, richly gilt spine with raised bands, gilt sides, a.e.g. Nice copy.

Selections from the Greek Anthology for the use in Jesuit Latin schools. Woodcut Jesuit device on title. Greek texts with Latin translations (without the names of translators).

Prov. Rennes prize book, awarded to "Ludovicus de la Nonneraye" on 23 August 1680, with signature and covered seal of the Jesuit "praefectus" (front flyleaf). - Count Joseph-François de Kergariou (1779-1849), French bibliophile, pioneer of Breton numismatics, prefect of Indre-et-Loire, and Napoleon’s chamberlain (arms on covers and collector’s stamp with monogram "J K" and device "Là ou ailleurs").
