17th-c. gilt marbled sheep, covers with gilt arms, ruled borders and corner pieces, gilt spine with raised bands and morocco label, sp. edges (rubbed, sm. def. at i.a. head and tail, some worming).

First edition of an extensive humanist Greek phrase-book, in the form of an alphabetical dictionary of Greek idioms. The French Benedictine scholar J. de Billy (1535-1581) was famous as a translator of Greek patristic texts.
