Mod. three-quarter spr. leather, mottled paper boards, spine with raised bands gilt-ruled (spine faded).

Work entirely engraved by Helman (1743-1806). Contains 24 nice plates depicting lively landscapes, ceremonies, scenes of Confucius' life, etc. after the drawings of the missionary Amiot. It is often accompanied by "Faits mémorables des empereurs de la Chine", also illustrated by Helman.
