4to: [4]-416 pp. (some spotting and toning throughout, f. Ee3 bound before Ee2).

Contemp. mottled sheep, richly gilt spine with raised bands (sl. rubbed).

Rare first edition. Very early and detailed account by Abbé de Choisy (1644-1711). He formed part of the official embassy from Louis XIV to the Siamese court that hoped, in vain, to convert the Siamese king to Christianity. Large printer's device on title.
