Rare Amsterdam edition of the famous work on the castles and manor houses, principal monasteries and abbeys in the province of Brabant by Le Roy (1633-1719). Our copy contains as engr. ill.: allegorical title by Abraham van Diepenbeeck, with "Antverpiae" at bottom, 1 folding map of Brabant by N. Visscher ("Tabula ducatus Brabantiae"), 3 folding city plans (Antwerp, Ravestein & Helmont, Mechelen), "Schema Metallorum", headpiece with the coat of arms of Spain, 1 folding view (Antwerp Cathedral by Hendricx after Hollar), 3 pl. showing funeral monuments, 9 folding or full-page pl. of castles, 7 large folding pl. of abbeys and 135 smaller pl. on 68 pp. showing castles and other buildings, each with the coat of arms of the owners. Engr. vign. from the missing French title ("Brabantia sacra et profana scenographice illustrata") mounted on upper pastedown.
