4to: [8]-293-[11] pp. ((damp)staining, mostly in the margins, some browning, tear underl. with tape sl. touching pl. 5).

Contemp. mottled calf, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands (joints and bands rubbed and starting to split, corners, head and tail repaired, later flyleaves).

Later edition (1st 1709) of an influential treatise on garden architecture and horticulture by the French author Dezallier d'Argenville (1680-1765). On later editions the name Alexander Le Blond appears because he made the designs for the plates. Ill. with 38 engr. plates (some double-page, other folding) by Mariette showing garden plans, pumps, fountains, etc. Numerous woodcut ill. in-text.
