Cont. blind-stamped calf over wood, covers ruled with fillets and roll-stamp, gilt decorated spine on raised bands (rebacked, clasps gone, small scratches, joints and edges sl. rubbed, one repair on lower cover, flyleaves and endpapers renewed).

First edition of this Bible commentary. Arboreus of Laon (d. 1569?) was a doctor of theology at the University of Paris. A third volume was published in 1553 by Mathieu David. Dotted initials by Geoffroy Tory. Large first Colines' Tempus mark on both title-pages. Ref.
