First edition of this translation, except of the "Annals" previously published, and first complete edition of Tacitus' works translated by B. Davanzati. Parallel edition with Latin and Italian texts. The magistrate and agronomist B. Davanzati (1529-1606) was a major translator of Tacitus. He wanted to prove with this translation the concision of Italian language, compared to French and Latin. He was a member of the "Accademia degli Alterati" under the nickname "Il Silente".
