First 8vo edition (1st 4to ed. in the same year) by the French priest, mineralogist and "Father of Modern Crystallography" R.-J. Haüy (1743-1822). "This work was immediately recognized as the most important offered by France to the science of mineralogy, one that placed the country at the forefront of the European nations in this science" (Schuh). Atlas complete with 86 engr. plates by Maleuvre. Signed by the publisher as it should be. Errata at the end of each text vol.
