Lot description

Obl. 4to: [2]-45 pp. (sl. browning, occ. very marg. sm. water stains).

Contemp. red morocco, four gilt fillets frame on boards, gilt dedication and title on upper board, flat spine (rubbed with some scratches, corners used).

Probably autograph ms. score "Respectueusement dédié à Monsieur le baron Th: Limnander de Nieuwenhove", by É. Wambach (Arlon 1854-1924 Antwerp), Belgian composer and conductor, professor (1910) then Director (1912) of the Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp. Our score dates from 1877, the year in which Wambach achieved his first success, with his "Ode to Rubens" performed for the celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of the painter's birth.
