Massive work directed by the Belgian ornithologist and entomologist Wytsman (1866-1925) and produced in collaboration with main European specialists such as P.L. Sclater, R. Bowdler Sharpe, W.R. Ogilvie-Grant, E. Hartert, C.E. Hellmayr and T. Salvadori. Illustrated with 42 splendid colourful chromolithographs of birds including 11 beautiful plates of parrots.
