Lot description
Copperplate, 6,4 x 8,8 cm, signed "Th. van Merlen", text "Amor Dei omnia spernit propter Deum" (few light stains).
Wrapped in an impression on vellum. Good condition.
"God's love forsakes all things for God's sake", illustrated by an angel leading a girl away from her coat of arms and treasures towards a crucifix. Possibly for an edition of Herman Hugo's "Pia desideria".
