Folio: 1 f.; 100 maps with coloured borders (title and general map missing, sm. spots to 5 pl., tears, some repaired, without loss to 5 pl., some light marg. soiling, mod. numeration in pencil, dampst. in lower marg. touching pl. in last part).
Contemp. half red cloth, flat spine (rubbed, flyleaves renewed).
Reedition containing 89 maps of France, 9 of Belgium and 4 of the Prussian Rhine province based on the original work of Pierre Grégoire Chanlaire (1758-1817), geographer and publisher, who started to publish his atlas in 1790, together with geographer Pierre Dumez and engraver François d'Houdain. He continued to update his atlas after the execution of Pierre Dumez in 1794 in collaboration with his widow.
