Contemp. blind-stamped vellum, ink titled spines with raised bands, sp. edges. Good copy.
Only edition of the major work of the Dutch linguist Lambert ten Kate (1674-1731), a monument of comparative Germanic philology. With engr. ill.: title by J. Goeree (vol. I), a hand-coloured folding map "Volk- en taelverspreiding over Europa" by J. Keizer, 1 plate with syllables, 2 headpieces. 1 printed folding table (vol. II). Woodcut mark on titles. First title in red and black.
