Contemp. mottled calf, gilt-decorated spines with raised bands (occ. weak joints, sm. defects and tr. of use).
Dutch ed. of M. Zeiller's Topographia Galliae (1st German ed. 1655-1661), profusely illustrated by Caspar Merian with 4 engr. titles and 324 pl., incl. a general map of France and 19 regional maps, 7 large folding views of Paris, Charité-sur-Loire, Dijon, Nevers, Rouen and Tonnerre, 297 views and plans of towns, castles, abbeys, churches, etc., of which 92 have 2 pl. per sheet, totalling more than 400 images, some double-paged, some folding, and resulting in a magnificent iconography of 17th-c. France.
