Second Elzevier edition (1st 1648) containing collected medical essays by J.B. van Helmont (1577-1644) edited by his son Franciscus Mercurius (1618-1699), and some smaller treatises on bladder calculus, fevers and plague. Ill. with one full-page engr. with fine portraits of father and son Van Helmont, surrounded by 8 coats of arms. Woodcut mark on title. Text in 2 col.
