Gilt-patinated metal, 17,5 x 18,0 cm, signed "G. DUPRE. F", on edges "PROPAGO IMPERII" (some losses in gilding, few parts (intentionally?) missing on edges).

On wooden base.

Modern replica with the same dimensions as Guillaume Dupré's (1576-1643) medal of 1605, of which examples are in London (British Museum, inv. 1981,1210.1) and New York (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, inv. 1989.12.1). The original medal was produced on the occasion of the birth of the son of King Henri IV of France (1553-1610) and Marie de' Medici (1575-1642), i.e. the Dauphin and later King Louis XIII (1601-1643).
