Lot description
Engraving, 26,1 x 16,6 cm, laid paper with watermark (crowned shield, Heawood 546, dated 1607), Latin text (1 spot, hinge still present on verso).
Good impression with wide margins. Excellent condition.
Copy in reverse after Battista Franco's (c. 1510-1561) famous etching of the penitent saint. Rare engraving not mentioned by Bartsch and not in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, New York.
