Lot description
Etching, 33,9 x 28,1 cm, signed "Pet. Paul. Rubenius Pinxit", address "P. Soutman excud Cum Privil" (trimmed inside platemark, sm. part missing at top left, traces of former mount on verso).
2nd state before later addresses and before the naked body of Silenus was censored. After the paintings by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) in Munich (Alte Pinakothek, inv. 319) and Kassel (Schloss Wilhelmshöhe, inv. GK 94).
