The outfits of the man and old woman make clear these are quacks. The Dutch verses give the whole scene a sexual connotation: "Zet jy de koppen maar, zei dikke Piet tot Tryn, / Ik slyp de vlymen vast, het zal haar heel cureeren, / En word Lys flau, en helpt geen veurschootband noch wyn, / Dan zal ik aanstonds met myn spuytding haar klisteeren."
