19th-c. blue quarter morocco, marbled paper over covers, flat gilt-titled and -dated spines with crowned coat of arms, marbled edges (only very sl. rubbed at heads, tails, corners & bottom edges, spines sl. discoloured). Nice, complete set.
Partly reissue of the weekly clandestine periodical "Correspondance littéraire secrète" (1774-1785), edited by L.-Fr. Metra (1738-1804), French journalist in refuge in Neuwied (Germany, near Koblenz), where this periodical was printed. He received his information from Paris from the polemicist G. Imbert. Last entry 7 October 1785. Important source for the last quarter of the 18th c. in France.
