With one b/w wood-engr. ill. by Laurence Binyon, the two borders and one ornament in green, one initial in red, fifteen initials and pressmark in black and white designed by Lucien and engraved by Esther Pissarro. The first in what the Pissarros called their Modern Series. This is the only ed. Binyon (1869-1943), Orientalist and later Keeper of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum, was an early friend of Charles Ricketts and Charles Shannon, founders of the Vale Press. There he met Pissarro who was part of the group of writers, scholars and artists around Ricketts and Shannon.
