Lot description
Black pencil, heightened with gouache, 34,8 x 49 cm, wove paper, signed in black pencil (dampstained, sl. toned, min. marg. tear at centre left).
Satirical scene of a soon to be married couple, with a frowning mother-in-law and other family members close behind the bride. A paper strip is added under the drawing quoting the title and sentence in French: "Sans doute, c'est un plaisir d'avoir enfants ! Mais [...]".
