Old limp vellum, spine on 3 raised bands with paper label, bottom edge titled (soiled, sm. def., ties gone). Excellent copy.
3rd separate ed. (1st 1473) of a collection of 254 dialogues by Petrarch (1304-1374). It is “a bouquet of moral philosophy, set out to show how thought and deed can generate happiness on the one hand, or sorrow and disillusionment on the other. In a recurring theme throughout the dialogues, Petrarch advises humility in prosperity and fortitude in adversity” (Wikipedia). Woodcut mark at the end. Capital spaces with guide-letters. Ref.
