Lot description

Etchings and engravings, ca. 43,5 x 40,6 cm, laid paper with watermark (crowned shield), address at bottom: "Ieremias Wolff excud. Aug. Vind." with different signatures (few creases, few sm. tears, few sm. stains, few edges trimmed to platemark, few with pinholes on edges).

Good impressions with mostly wide margins.

With maps in medallions above and elaborate German texts below. Includes Gibraltar, Landau, Luzzara, Moyland Castle, Naples, Turin and the coronation of Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI (1685-1740). Battle scenes designed by Paul Decker I (1677-1713) and II (1685-1742) and Georg Philipp Rugendas (1666-1742), ornamental frames designed by Paul Decker I and Abraham Drentwett (1647-1727). Plates engraved by Johann August Corvinus (1683-1738), Johann Balthasar Probst (1689-1750) and I.I.R. All published by Jeremias Wolff (1663-1724) in "Repraesentatio belli ob successionem in regno Hispanico...".
