2 parts in 1 vol., 8vo: [16 incl. engr. title]-213-[3], [16 incl. engr. title]-212-[3] pp.; 98 (of 102) pl. (pl. 13 and 31 in pt. I, 13 and 29 in pt. II missing; cut short, shaving sometimes running titles, some soiling in pt. II).
18th-c. sheep, gilt-ruled flat spine, red edges (rubbed, bookblock loose).
First ed. of these two works on the Passion of Christ and the Virgin Mary by the Flemish Jesuit J. David (1546-1613). Illustrated with 2 engr. titles and 98 plates (of 102) by Th. Galle. All pl. with captions in Latin, Dutch and French. In this copy, the 2 parts are inverted, the "Pancarpium Marianum" is usually bound as second, although it occurs also separately.
