Contemp. sheep, gilt-orn. compartments (tail and 2 corners restored, corners bumped).
Later edition of the 1647 translation and adaptation by Gilles de Smidt, a Jesuit priest, of the "Constitutiones et regulae societatis Iesu" of Ignatius of Loyola, intended as a summary of the ideals and goals set forth for the order.
