Lot description
Painting, watercolour, 15,5 x 25,4 cm, wove paper, signed with initials "A.S.".
Under passe-partout, in gilt. wooden frame (not studied outside frame).
A romantic view on a city during winter time in the style of Schelfhout (1787-1870). His Dutch winter scenes and frozen canals with skaters were already famous during his lifetime. He became one of the most influential Dutch landscape artists of the century.
