Merging of the first and second ed. of this detailed research and translation of a 9th-c. manuscript by the German poet August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798-1873) - of Das Lied der Deutschen - fame, but here expanded and corrected (twice), by the Flemish writer Jan Frans Willems (1793-1846). The presence of all the wrappers is important, especially that of the second edition, because it contains the errata list. The 1837-edition is one of only 120 copies, the 1845-edition is corrected and augmented. 1 facsimile text leaf, present in both editions, uncut, with widest possible margins.
