Very rare first Dutch ed. (orig. 1736) of a collection of scientific treatises by the French author A.-F. Boureau-Deslandes (1690-1757), comprising 9 chapters, i.a. how to conserve grain, on wind, on the catching of salmon, "on worms that gnaw the wood of ships" and on an archeological find. Engr. ills: 7 full-page and 2 folding pl., showing i.a. an ancient Celtic statuette and 3 schematic overviews of how to catch salmon. Complete with the 2 pp. index at end. Woodcut ornament on title.
