Contemp. half calf, gilt filleted spines with 6 raised bands (corners bumped and rubbed, spines sl. rubbed). Uncut copy.
First edition with the Atlas, of this manual dealing with the planning and construction of domestic architecture, the choice of materials as well as customs in real estate and expert reports. Although attributed to Charles-Étienne Briseux (ca. 1680-1754), the "Architecture Moderne" is probably a compilation by Jombert. Illustrated with a fold. engr. front. by Lucas after J. Courtonne depicting a temple, 7 engr. fold. plates in the first vol. (a.o. the engr. title of the 2nd vol.) and an Atlas with 144 numb. plates depicting numerous plans, elevations and sections.
