Bruneau (1576-1634) was a famous counsellor and diplomat on the behalf of Hasburg, especially Philip IV of Spain who sent him on important diplomatic missions in Madrid, Vienna, Prague because of his knowledge in Northern Europe and Germany affairs. Letters: (1). 2 May 1637, to his brother Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand (1609-1641), Governor of the Spanish Netherlands: about a financial help for Anna-Catherina d'Agua, widow of Bruneau, "mi residente que fue en Alemania".-- (2). 20 June 1647, to his cousin Leopold William of Austria, Gov. of the Spanish Neth.: Catherina Dagua has not received anything yet and asks for a help of "2.181 patacones".
