Late 18th-c. three-quarter calf, marbled paper covers, gilt orn. spine with raised bands, red spr. edges (sl. rubbed). Good copy.
Second edition as the edition printed posthumously in 1529 in Florence by the Giunta is more than probably the editio princeps. Treatise on the qualities of a good citizen written in the form of a discussion between Luigi Guicciardini, Francesco Sacchetti and Agnolo Pandolfino. Matteo Palmieri (1406-1475) was a Florentine humanist and historian. He was sent as ambassador to the court of Alfonso of Naples. Title within ornamental frame.
