2 parts in 1 vol., 8vo: [16]-1/479, 489/936-[22] pp. (some browning, spotting and dampstaining, a single marginal wormhole throughout first half of the bookblock).
Contemp. mottled calf, gilt orn. spine with 5 raised bands, gilt sides, red edges (some sm. def. at upper cover and tail).
Later ed. (first 1623) by the pioneering anatomist and surgeon G. Fabrizi d'Aquapendente (1533-1619), known in medical sciences as "The Father of Embryology". He teached anatomy and performed dissections in Padua. William Harvey was his pupil. Ill. with woodcuts showing surgical instruments.
