8vo: [8]-148 ff. (sl. toned, minor soiling, f. a1 loosening).
16th-c. gilt calf, covers with gilt ruled border and gilt oval central ornament, gilt spine on 4 raised bands (rubbed, corners bumped, joints splitting). Good copy.
One of the many editions of the letters of Paolo Manuzio (1512-1574), heir of the great Aldo Manuzio. It was used as a textbook in Latin schools. Prize book: “In classe Grammatices | Premium Pietatis | Antonio Vanden Eynde Lyrano” (front flyleaf, school not named, dated "1639"). Engr. vignette on title. Printed in italics. Ref.
