Third edition (1st ed.: 1602) of this history of English reformation until the death of Queen Mary, compiled and translated from Nicolas Sander "De origine ac progressu schismatis anglicani". Davanzati (1529-1606), agronomist and economist from Florence, intended to demonstrate that Henry VIII's behaviour was the cause of the schism with Papacy. Followed with 2 economic treatises (on exchange rates and coins), 3 orations (one for Cosimo I de' Medici and two other pronounced at the Accademia degli Alterati) and a final one on agriculture (vines and wines, peaches, pomegranate trees...). Illustrated with the author's woodcut portrait on reverse of title.
