Considerably annotated edition (1st ed. 1570) of a standard work on Christian art and symbolism by the Louvain theologian J. Molanus (1533-1585), ed. by his 18th-c. successor J.N. Paquot (1722-1803). He inserted supplements, one of the most interesting of these is a detailed list of one hundred and forty books on art arranged chronologically and giving printing places and formats.
